Steampunk Mixed Media Canvas

Hey everyone. Today i'm sharing a very special project. So what i made was a canvas in a slightly girlish Steampunk style with lots of mixed media touches and a bit of grunge. I created this canvas during a class for Creating the Crafting Life but the colors that i chose to use where from the Lindy Stamp Gang Color Challenge. I'm entering this canvas into their color challenge and also for the Design Team Call. I have never tried out for a design team before, so i'm very nervous. This is also my fist attempt at steampunk but i think it came out great and can't wait to play around like this again :) I used tons of metal embellishment from Tim Holtz and Graphic 45. The chipboard pieces were so fun to work with, like the Steampunk Cameo Lady and the Hot Air Balloon which are from Leaky Shed Studio. I even added some fun grungy flowers and of course textured the background in my most favorite way, using a template and modeling paste. The colors that gave it life and all that shimmer were from Lindy Stamp Gang and I used TiffanyLou Blue, Creme Brulee Cream, Milk Chocolate Brown, Dark Chocolate Truffle and small random touches of Afternoon Delight Denim. Gorgeous Layout and Altered Bag

Hi, MBT Fans!

We've got two new impressive projects for you today from MBT designers Kelly Peters and  Misty Busby. Misty brings us a delightful scrapbook layout that she did for a swap. You'll love the darling colors and florals she used! And have you ever used gift bag and wished there was a way to make it less plain and boring and more appealing? Kelly has done just that! Mixed Media Grow Layout

It has been a long time since I have done a layout, but I joined a swap over at Creating the Crafty Life where we had to make a 12x12 layout with photo mats that needed access to have a photo added by your partner. So that was just a little challenging to me. So although it looks like you don't have access to the full photo mat, you do. I glued everything to the trim, and where they overlap its not adhered down there, so you can just slide in a photo. I used tons of gorgeous MB's Treasurista treasures, like all the flowers, wheat sprays, candy gem sprays, lace and trim, and of course the gorgeous Secret Garden paper collection that i'm so in love with. I did do some super fun mixed media touches to it with Starburst Sprays from Lindy Stamp Gang and used modeling paste with the lattice template from Prima. I hope that you like it and so does my partner Rosa :)
