Teach Me Tuesday

Hello Again! I am here with another "Teach Me Tuesday" Tutorial for MB's Treasurista.

This month I am here to show you a new way to utilize the mini acrylic flowers that Misty sells HERE! These acrylic flowers are sold in MANY different colors! Here is a list of the colors: Sage Green, Brown, Apple, Orange, Fuchsia, Turquoise, Clear, Yellow and Purple!!!! WOW.... so many colors. I love all of them. I really like how the flowers look added to other paper flowers, but I wanted to try something different.

Supplies needed are:
Mini Acrylic Flowers
Green Distress Ink
Ink Blending Tool
Wire Cutters

So, what I decided to do is make a bouquet of flowers for a sympathy card. I gathered a selection of flowers I wanted to use to create the bouquet and then inked the stems with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.

This is what the wrapped wire stem looks like once it is all inked up.

After all the stems are inked, I twisted the stems together to create the bouquet. This is the look of the completed bouquet:

Here is a picture of the completed card. I used lots of MB's Treasurista's goodies on this card and I LOVE how it turned out! :)

I used a hot pink card base and used the corner chomper to round the edges of the card. I used a piece of patterned paper as the second layer for this card. I then used kraft cardstock to cut out the dainty doily oval by MFT and layered an oval die cut. I inked the edges of all of the paper with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I glued the bouquet on top of the oval.

The sentiment is from the Essential Sentiments Stamp set from MFT and is stamped on one of the mini file tab die-namics. Now for Misty's amazing products!!! The scalloped burlap is cut from a piece of the natural burlap trim from MBT. The first layer is the cream satin trim and on top of that the Pink Gicot Gimp Trim. The bow is also made of the white seam binding that was sprayed with some glimmer mist.

I truly hope you like my Teach Me Tuesday Tutorial and that it inspires you to create! :)

XoXo,
Katie
